Utah has been the backdrop for over 900 films since the beginning of the industry in the 1920’s, and is still a vital and thriving part of the industry today. Come hear from Virginia Pearce, director of the Utah Film Commission about the past, present and future of film in Utah. Virginia Pearce has over 15 years of experience in marketing and external relations in the film industry. Pearce was formerly the Director of Marketing & Community Programs at Spy Hop, a nonprofit youth media organization that mentors teens in digital media creation, overseeing all external relations and community programming. She joined Spy Hop in 2010 after serving as the Associate Director of Artist Relations at Sundance Institute since 1998. While there, she managed relationships with the Institute’s film, music and theatre artists, managed the Institute’s artist labs program and created the Sundance Institute Alumni program. Pearce got her start as a commercial photographer and worked in Seattle, Maine, Boston and Paris

RL Grime has risen the ranks to the forefront of what is a new generation genre-fusing artists, setting eyes on exploring the uncharted and reshaping modern music with every new track he makes. Releasing his debut EP Grapes in April of 2012 on LA’s WEDIDIT imprint, RL took little time in making a name for himself, garnering early support from some of the biggest DJ’s in the world, including Diplo, A-Trak, Skrillex, and Just Blaze. In 2013 he released his sophomore EP High Beams on Fools Gold Records, debuting at number 8 on Billboard’s electronic charts. RL Grime’s work as a remixer has also been met with great acclaim, clocking in official remixes for Benny Benassi, Chief Keef, Jamie Lidell, and Shlohmo – as well as a bootleg of “Mercy” by Kanye West, which has since received over 3 million plays on SoundCloud. DJ Soulman made his mark in the music world as the lead vocalist for the all American rap rock pioneers, the Phunk Junkeez. Since they signed with Interscope Records, they have released six albums. From the time Soulman began his solo career, he has made his presence known as a DJ worldwide. He recently held down DJ & Emcee duties for the 311 Caribbean Cruise tour, and kept the crowd rocking from Miami to Turks. It's all about the energy of DJ Soulman's Live show. The energy of the people dancing and moving to the music is what it's all about. In 2009-2010 he played shows in the US & Japan and has performed at special events that included the likes of Deadmau5, 311, Girl Talk, Yves LaRock, DJ Vice, DJ Scene, Ashanti, Jamie Foxx, Mann, Robin Thicke & Jennifer Hudson tour, Keri Hilson Tour, EDGE Fest 2008, Mandalay Bay, Paul Mitchell Gathering 2009, AVP volleyball expo.
