Don't drink and drive in Park City

7/4/2014

Locals know not to drink and drive in Park City.  Of course it is common sense and no one should ever drink and drive.  However, in Park City the police are very proactive as are the taxi drivers.  There are only two roads leading into Park City.  Highway 224 is called the 'gauntlet,' for a reason.  The police patrol that road like hawks.  Kearns boulevard is the same.  There is a saying in Park City, "If you are driving after midnight in Park City and you are not a taxi...you've been drinking and you are fair game."  Not only are the police watching for you, taxi drivers will turn you in if they see you drunk and you get behind the wheel.  Remember, if you get in an accident you might kill one of our drivers, our guests or our locals.  So, we take drinking and driving very serious as a town.  Your DUI will cost you about $5,000.00 and your insurance will go up. It might cost you your life of the life of someone we love.  A taxi will cost you about $20.  So save a life, go home safe 'in a TAXI 'and don't even think about drinking and driving in Park City!

I am Diania (pronounced Di Anna and I love Park City and so will you..  Born and raised in El Paso, Texas I never envisioned a place so wonderful existed.  Before I started FASTAXI, I owned Deep Powder Transportation and learned about the trials, troubles and fun of being a taxi driver in Park City and being a guest, trying to get a ride.  With over100 taxi companies, it's amazing, sometimes there are no taxi's available, especially after 2 a.m.

I know this space is suppose to be about me but what makes Park City so wonderful is the locals, the culture and the magnificent beauty.  The people here are genuinely nice.  They aren't pretending.

But a word of warning:  DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE IN PARK CITY.  Our main road is called the gauntlet for a reason.  Ask any local and they will tell you...if you drink and drive in Park City, you are going to have a very bad encounter with our police department.
